Unwell patient pathway at reception

 

Hi Everyone Please see the new guidance on unwell patients who present to our department.

Remember Our receptionists are often the first people to see patients and its important if they flag a patient that they are concerned about to review them ASAP and escalate to the NIC

Inform the triage nurse if any of the following complaints book in:

• Chest Pain
• Chemical in eye
• Acutely Short of breath
• Heavily bleeding
• Symptoms of a stroke FAST
• Floppy Child
• Under 1 year old
• Fitting patient

If the triage nurse is unavailable for an extended length of time please inform the Nurse in Charge of the attendance
